Book review: The Great Depression, A Diary

Just finished reading “The Great Depression..A Diary” by Benjamin Roth. The journal covers events between June 1931 to December 1941 and has some occasional narrative from the editors. Originally written by a lawyer, it was handed down to his son as required reading before joining the family practice.

This was a great read. I was hoping that it would contain a description of the day to day details, it doesn’t. What it does contain is a description of the political, financial and societal issues of that period. I was constantly amazed at the similarities between that decade an the period we are now experiencing! You can definitely see where our current administration is getting their ideas. I recommend this book for anyone.
