Review: Bushnell Elite 3200 10×40 Rifle Scope

There’s not much on the web about this scope other than standard info on the retail websites so here’s some of my thoughts and photos. This scope is one of Bushnell’s Elite 3200 series and features a 1″ diameter, one piece aluminum tube, Mil-Dot reticle and large target knobs with .25 MOA clicks.

Budget constraints steered me towards the Bushnell which currently sells for around $200. I like to keep things simple when possible and had 2 requirements when I was shopping for a scope: Fixed power and a Mil-Dot reticle.

This scope is shown on a Savage 110 .30-06. Mounting this scope was a bit more involved than buying a set of rings and mounts since this is an older Savage long action with a flat-top rear receiver. The scope is 11.7″ long with a tube length of 7″ which required a one piece mount and an offset front ring to get the proper eye relief. The result is rock solid.

The target knobs are standard on this model and one of the reasons that I chose this scope.  You can feel nice solid “clicks” when adjustments are made. The turrets are well engraved and easy to read. Focus and optic clarity are the best that I’ve seen so far.

In my opinion, this scope is an outstanding product and a great value. The combination of the scope and one-piece mount has solved my problem of holding zero under the rifle’s recoil. I was so  satisfied with this scope that I bought a second one for my Stevens 200 .223 custom carbine (using a  2-piece mount). Apparently, this scope has earned the trust of Barrett as well. They are now including it with their M99 .50 BMG rifles.

The flip-up scope covers shown above are sold by Butler Creek and did not come with the Bushnell.

This scope is available thru Amazon.com
